Nico Wouters is head of the Study Centre for War and Society (CegeSoma - Belgian State Archives) and guest professor at the University of Ghent. He is also co-editor in chief of the Journal of Belgian History. Recent book publications include (as editor) Transitional Justice and Memory in Europe 1945-2013 (2014), Mayoral Collaboration under Nazi Occupation in Belgium, the Netherlands and France (2016) and (as co-editor with Berber Bevernage) The Handbook of State Sponsored History after 1945 (2018). He is also co-editing (with Laurence Van Ypersele) Nations, Identities and the First World War. Shifting Loyalties to the Fatherland (forthcoming in 2018). Between 2014-2018 he was involved in several World War I projects, among others as coordinator of the 'Great War from Below' research project.
